Why is your support so important this year?

As our fundraising efforts over the last three years have been hampered by the pandemic, we have relied on using an ever-dwindling PTSA reserve fund to keep the current programs alive. This is not sustainable. If we don’t fund the budget this year, we will be left with no other option than to start deciding which programming to cut.

The programs the PTSA funds are not guaranteed; they come through the generosity of this community, and they are at risk. Imagine Pathfinder without the garden program, without the camping program, without access to a school counselor for children that have been deeply affected by the pandemic the last three years? Our school is a special place that we have all chosen to send our children to. Let’s continue to support these programs at the level they are offered today.

The Pathfinder PTSA budget funds:

• Classroom support ($10,800)
• Assemblies and Storytelling with Roger ($3,500)
• Supplemental funds to the Art, Music and PE programs ($6,000)
• Camping and field trips for each class, every year ($12,000)
• Access to the After School program, keeping costs as low as possible and providing scholarships
• ($16,000)
• The beloved Garden Program including teacher salary ($18,000)
• Diverse books in the library and classrooms ($4,000)
• Additional time for the school counselor in our elementary school and half time admin in office
• ($37,000)
• Graduation ceremonies and parties for 5th and 8th grade each year.
• Annual events to support the sense of community that Pathfinder has always been known for,
• including parent education events and fun family events like the Harvest Festival, Skate Night, Field
• Day, Share the Gift and more. ($20,000)
• Race and Equity Commitment to WS Public School Equity Fund ($14,500)
• Parent Education Events

Our goal this week is $50,000 of the total $141,000 PTSA budget. That’s roughly $300/kid/year or
