Door decor for the outdoors needs you!

It’s time to trim your cedar, prune your holly or walk through Lincoln Park to gather evergreen boughs for our beautiful, unique, one-of-a-kind holiday decor. There are many ways to get involved and volunteer to keep our kids camping and enhance outdoor education at Pathfinder.

If you have fallen branches or any other ornamental plants or supplies that could be used in our creations, please don’t hesitate to bring them to Pathfinder and stack them outside the “cage” beside the gym. Once we have greens the workshop is open!! We need 175-200 wreaths/swag to sell on Dec 2nd & 3rd at the Kennedy Catholic High School Arts and Crafts Fair & the West Seattle Farmer’s Market respectively. No kidding. . .if we make them, they will sell. Our wreaths/swag are famous in the west Seattle area.

Opportunities to Volunteer:

Collect greens We need 4-5 people with trucks willing to spend a few hours a week swinging by tree lots & Home Depot to gather the discarded boughs from the Christmas tree lots. They expect us & have discard piles/boxes full of trimmed boughs. Please email Paige (camping@pathfinderk8ptsa.org) if you can help us out.

Kennedy Catholic High School Arts & Crafts Fair Pathfinder will be selling door decor at this popular annual event. Please sign up here to volunteer.

West Seattle Farmer’s Market Pathfinder will be selling door decor 3 Sundays in December (3rd, 10th and 17th). Please sign up here to volunteer.

Your own personal workshop If you love making wreaths & want to make some for online sales and the farmer’s market, please email Kathleen Hynes at kathleen.hynes@me.com or text 206-963-3360. Kathleen can also grant you access to the Pathfinder workshop which is available during the school day.

What to bring to a workshop:

You are encouraged to bring lots of greens, dried flowers, berries, ornamentals from your yard, clippers and gloves, but it is not mandatory. We WILL have everything you need to make a wreath including someone to guide you. Before you come, check out our “How to Make Door Decor” video here. It is outdoors so dress appropriately. You don’t need to stay the entire time. Please pay for wreaths via QR Code at your workshop or through the online Pathfinder PTSA store here if you take a wreath/swag home with you. It is not mandatory to purchase a wreath and you’re welcome to attend for the great company and help make wreaths/swag to sell at the Kennedy Craft Fair or West Seattle Farmers Market. Please choose Class Workshop Wreath so we know you’ve taken your wreath or swag. If you would like to order door decor that a Wreath Wizard makes for you, please choose Pre-order Wreath and we will contact you when it’s ready. PLEASE CLEAN UP.
