Disability Justice Workshop

January 31, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm PST

Hosted by the Seattle Special Education PTSA
The primary principle of Disability Justice is Intersectionality. Each and every person has multiple identities, and each identity can be a site of privilege or oppression. The understanding of disability is dependent on the interaction- the experience of disability is formed by race, class, gender expression, historical moment, relationship to colonization and more.
This educational event is presented by two local disability and education advocates, Samantha Fogg, current co-President of Seattle Council PTSA and Yordanos Gebremlak, the Deputy Director in the Office of the Educational Ombuds at the Washington Governor’s office.
Where: Online, registration required
ASL and Spanish, Somali and Vietnamese language interpretation will be provided.
Educators can earn two free clock hours for attending this training, provided by the Office of Educational Ombuds.
*This workshop is for: educators, administrators, students, families, community partners, private service providers, and anyone who is interested in personal and professional growth.
