Staff Appreciation Week is May 4 – 8 — and our virtual reality has necessitated a shift in tradition for this important week. The Pathfinder PTSA feels that it is important to recognize and express gratitude to Pathfinder teachers and staff for everything they have done and are continuing to do to meet new challenges with patience, creativity, positivity and resilience.
Thoughtful No-Cost Appreciation Ideas
In lieu of purchased group gifts for teachers and staff, we would love for families to find creative, no-cost ways to appreciate our wonderful staff. Examples could include:
- Writing a notes and poems
- Create short videos
- Make cards or artwork
- Take a photo with a picture or thank you
Cards or thank yous could be displayed in Zoom or Team meetings — either by the kids or in a virtual background — or they could be emailed to staff. Any way that you can show thoughtfulness for all of the hard work our teachers and staff have been doing will be much appreciated.
Thanking Pathfinder Support Staff
We also ask that you thank staff beyond your child’s classroom teachers. Talk to your kids and encourage them to recognize the staff members who have made a positive impact in their lives this year. Many of them haven’t been able to see the students since March, yet are working tirelessly behind the scenes to make remote learning work.
Here’s a loose schedule for prompting appreciations for the full Pathfinder staff. Look for an email sent out on April 29 with the list of the Pathfinder staff and emails.
- Monday: Classroom Teachers
- Tuesday: Specialist Teachers (PE, Art, Music, Chinese, Library, Garden)
- Wednesday: Support Staff (IAs, Literacy Specialists, Access/Resource Room, Special Ed Team, Counselor)
- Thursday: Office, Administration & Building Staff (Front office staff, Principals, Nurse, Custodians, Lunch staff, Playground)
Thank you for being so supportive of Pathfinder’s teachers and staff. Let’s make sure they hear loud and clear how much we appreciate them next week. And consider a kind word other times as well!
