Black Lives Matter Celebration

This week Pathfinder students and teachers are celebrating Black Lives Matter with many activities and lessons in and outside of the classroom. Ask them what they talked about!

Dogs at School

We would like to ask that if you have a dog with you when coming to school, please don’t bring it into the building. District policy states that only service or therapy animals are allowed in a school. We also have students that are not comfortable with dogs or have allergies.

If you bring your dog to school, please have it on leash, and if you tie it up outside, please do it in an area that is not highly traveled by students and adults picking students up.  Dogs should not be in the front entry way that is so highly crowded before and after school.  Thank you!

LIKE at Pathfinder February 27th

LIKE is coming to Pathfinder thanks to a collaboration between our PTSA and South Seattle College Coop Preschool! LIKE is an IndieFlix Original documentary that explores the impact of social media on our lives. The goal of this film is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to self regulate. Technology is a tool, and by understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it more safely together.

Our middle school students will watch the film during the school day, and parents are invited to come see it in the evening. Following the film, our middle school counselor, Susanne Paris, will lead a discussion.

Wreath Sales Results

The results are in! This year officially goes down as the most successful wreath fundraiser of all time. You all made and sold a whopping 505 wreaths! More importantly, the Pathfinder PTSA is delivering a check today to the school totaling $13,775 — $1,770 more than last year. These funds will help defray the costs of camping for all of our students this spring. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Help Wanted for Sharing the Gift

Sharing the Gift is one of Pathfinder’s oldest and most beloved traditions. Each spring, we dedicate three Friday afternoons (May 1st, 8th and 15th), to learning a new skill from adults in our school community. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to sharing a talent all three weeks. Use your imagination and Share a Gift you love! If you are interested or have questions, please contact Andy Darring at afdarring@seattleschools.org
